What the heck is going on with Saved by the Bells Lark Voorhies?

Lark Voorhies, the actress best known for playing Lisa Turtle on “Saved by the Bell,” gave an erratic, rambling interview to “Entertainment Tonight” Wednesday to dispel claims that her husband is “taking advantage” of her. In 2012, Voorhies’s mother, Tricia, told People that the actress had been diagnosed as bipolar.

Tricia recently filed for a restraining order against her son-in-law, music producer Jimmy Green. Green said he wasn’t “aggressive” toward Tricia, but admitted to being “blunt and demanding.”

In 2012, the New York Daily News reported that Green was wanted in Tucson, Ariz., for charges of disorderly conduct and threatening to intimidate. He dismissed the charges as a “just a misdemeanor.” Voorhies married him in a secret wedding in Las Vegas last April.

Voorhies, 41, denied that she’s bipolar, but told “ET” reporter Kevin Frazier that she had a “sweep with textbook clinical depression.”

Voorhies has largely disappeared from the public eye in recent years, but many began to wonder about her when she was photographed on an Indie Rights Movies red carpet in 2014 for the premiere of “Where We Stand” sporting makeup that seemed to show a noticeably bad highlighting job.

It triggered alarm bells not just because it was so jarring, but because if there’s anyone who has access to professional makeup artists, it’s celebrities.

Here’s how People described Voorhies after a series of interviews with the star in 2012:

Voorhies’s once-sparkling brown eyes are disturbingly vacant, and sometimes well with tears. During a PEOPLE photo shoot she keeps up a near-constant dialogue — by turns mournful, frenetic and angry — with unseen figures, and struggles to focus for even brief moments. It’s a face she has never revealed to the public, although her erratic behavior in recent years — coupled with a retreat from the spotlight — has sparked rumors that she is struggling with drug use.

When Jimmy Fallon hosted a “Saved by the Bell” reunion in February, Voorhies wasn’t the only leading cast member who was missing. Dustin Diamond, who played Screech, was arrested in December 2014 for stabbing a man with in a Wisconsin bar with a switchblade. He was found guilty and last month was sentenced to four months in jail.

“Lark would have loved to be part of the Jimmy Fallon skit (as she is a big fan of the show), however due to an intense work schedule she was not available,” her publicist said in a statement to E! News. According to IMDB, Voorhies’s last job was an appearance on a 2014 episode of the web series “The Comeback Kids.”
